This whiskey was reviewed as a part of the Drinks By the Dram’s Irish whiskey Advent Calendar during the Christmas season of 2018. Thankfully the door on this particular day was good to me with a drop of Walsh Whiskey’s Irishman Single Malt whiskey. This whiskey is an affordable favourite of mine, with the bottle retailing for between €45-50 in the Republic of Ireland. It is matured in both ex-bourbon and sherry casks, with chill filtration and we would assume caramel colouring. It is triple distilled which, was distilled in the Old Bushmills Distillery.
The whiskey is incredibly easy drinking and thoroughly enjoyable.

Nose: Bright pear drop nose, with light notes of citrus, toasted wood, sweet white grape and a mouth watering drop of honey.
Palate: This whiskey opens with a slight tongue prickle, chocolate, honey, peach and light citrus.
Finish: Medium/long finish with lasting honey sweetness tied with wood prickle.
Overall: This is a great value for money whiskey in my opinion. Great flavour and a real easy drinker.
