Wild Geese – Untamed Cask Strength

It seems that Wild Geese Whiskey is returning to the markets once again, after a several year hiatus of releases, due to what we assume was issues with supply of stock.

Previously the Wild Geese owner, has taken legal action against Irish Distillers – Pernod Ricard over non-supply of whiskey. This action was ultimately defeated in court and the Wild Geese brand has been working on securing supply of stocks since.

This release is a blended of malt and grain whiskeys which have been matured in ex-bourbon and is being bottled at cask strength with no chill-filtration. The blend is being released at a staggering 65% ABV, we will have to see how this one hits the palate, although, we are looking forward to seeing a new style of entrant hit the market. There are few and far between, cask strength blends on the market.

The label was approved this morning for the TTB (The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau of the United States Department of Treasury), so it is safe to assume that this release will be finding its way to the United States. There is no release date as of yet but we will update in the future when more information becomes available.

Until then,

Sláinte.
