Crystal Malt is a name of specialty brewing grain that will pique the interest of any Irish whiskey fan around the world. Up until now, the most famous Crystal Malt release was in a blended format, but still wowed the taste buds of Irish whiskey lovers around the world.
Teeling have brought this grain back to the fore with the World’s First Single Malt Crystal Malt Irish Whiskey! Crystal Malt is created when the sugars that are naturally formed during the traditional malting process are crystallised through heat treatment in a closed system that prevents the moisture from escaping. This produces a highly distinctive toffee-like flavour, along with hints of tropical fruits.

The distilling team at Teeling Whiskey Distillery utilised this grain as an addition to their, core range, award winning single malt recipe. Limited to just 18,000 bottles, the Teeling Crystal Single Malt was triple distilled in their Dublin Distillery, and then fully matured in Virgin American Oak Casks.
Bottled at 46% ABV with no chill filtration and is initially available at Dublin’s Loop Duty Free, for a RRP of €80 when flying within the EU or €66 when flying outside of the EU. This will then be rolled out in “key export markets” throughout 2024.
Jack Teeling, Founder and Managing Director of Teeling Whiskey, commented;
“We are delighted to partner with Dublin Airport to bring this exceptional Crystal Single Malt release to global travelers and whiskey enthusiasts. This release is a true embodiment of our commitment to innovation and quality, and we are proud to showcase the best of Irish whiskey craftsmanship.”
